Georgia Plum, APRN Raeford & Hope Mills

Ms. Plum is a pediatric provider in our Hope Mills location.

Georgia Plum knew from an early age that she was destined for a career working with children, she didn’t know in what capacity. An aunt since the age of seven, Ms. Plum spent virtually her entire life around babies and children and loved it. 

Born and raised in Washington County, Maryland, Ms. Plum completed her undergraduate studies at Hagerstown Junior College. She then graduated from West Virginia University with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. It was during her pediatrics semester that she learned about the role of pediatric nurse practitioner (PNP) and made that her career goal.

After working for a few years as a nurse, Ms. Plum wanted to have a more independent role in helping take care of families. She went on to graduate school at the University of Maryland at Baltimore to pursue studies to become a PNP. 

Ms. Plum enjoys working with families and helping parents succeed in their role. With expertise in addressing behavior issues common in pediatrics as well as ADHD, she believes there is no bad child. She helps families develop behavior and lifestyle modifications that may include medications to help parents adapt to their child’s unique needs. Ms. Plum also enjoys identifying and treating allergies in patients. She feels allergies are reversible with the right treatment. She helps the parents of her asthmatic patients by developing action care plans for how to appropriately respond when a child is in distress. 

Ms. Plum relocated to North Carolina in 2015 to enjoy the warmer climate and beautiful beaches. Outside of work, she enjoys relaxing at the beach, reading and walking outside with her dog. A mom to two adult children, Ms. Plum also enjoys rooting for her favorite baseball and football teams, the Orioles and the Ravens!
