Christiana Dorsey, MD

Christiana Dorsey, MD Pediatrician in Fayetteville NCDr. Christiana Dorsey is a pediatrician who works in our Fayetteville, NC location.

From the time she was six years old, Christiana Dorsey knew she wanted to be a pediatrician. Tagging along on her brother’s many doctor’s visits, she realized how a healthcare provider could mold the health of young patients at an early age. From this experience, she developed a passion for advocacy on behalf of children who could not advocate for themselves.

Dr. Christiana Dorsey grew up in Baltimore, Maryland (Go Ravens!). While in high school, she went on two faith-based mission trips to Costa Rica that changed her perception of the world forever. During each mission, she spent two weeks getting to know the locals. Seeing firsthand how willing and open they were despite having limited access to the many amenities we enjoy in the US made her realize the importance of gratitude on a much deeper level.

After attending the University of Maryland at College Park, Dr. Dorsey spent two years shadowing a cardiothoracic surgeon to learn more about the industry and how to deliver exceptional patient care.

She went on to medical school at Morehouse School of Medicine. After her first year of medical school, Dr. Dorsey went on a medical mission to Haiti and helped triage patients in rural mountain towns. She remembers identifying and then telling a Haitian woman that she was pregnant with twins after hearing two heartbeats with a stethoscope during an examination.

Dr. Christiana Dorsey later completed her Pediatrics Residency training at Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, GA. She has a special interest in infant nutrition, breastfeeding, and adolescent medicine. She believes that nutrition from infancy is critical for proper development. Having grown up in a food desert, Dr. Dorsey has seen firsthand how diet can prevent disease. She works with her patient families to develop a plan to bring about the highest levels of health and wellness. Dr. Dorsey’s relatable demeanor helps patients and families quickly build a trusting relationship with her.

Outside of work, Dr. Dorsey enjoys traveling, listening to music, and reading (she loves romantic comedies). She is also a pretty fantastic crafter and makes wreaths for every season – a talent she learned from her grandmother as a child.
