Dr. Alese Hunt’s journey into medicine is rooted in two things she holds dear: a deep love for children and her lifelong connection to North Carolina.

Dr. Hunt built her foundation at Yale University before returning to North Carolina to earn her medical degree from Wake Forest School of Medicine. This combination of world-class education and local commitment ensures her patients receive care informed by the best practices, delivered with genuine, community-focused warmth.

For Dr. Hunt, pediatrics is far more than just treating illness—it’s about partnership. She views it as a truly unique field that allows her to build lasting relationships with families and share in the joy of a child’s entire journey, from infancy through adolescence.

“Kids are so much fun to work with, even when they present challenges,” Dr. Hunt shares. “Their resilience and honesty make every day meaningful and rewarding.”

She is passionate about the teaching aspect of medicine, with a special clinical interest in health literacy. Her goal is simple: to make sure parents and children feel completely comfortable bringing their questions and concerns to every visit, ensuring families feel supported and empowered through clear guidance and education.

A native of Lumberton, NC, Dr. Hunt is deeply familiar with the region and its people, choosing to remain in her hometown to serve the community she loves.

When she steps away from the clinic, Dr. Hunt cherishes her time with her own family—her husband and three children. She can often be found antiquing or reading.

Above all, Dr. Hunt values connection. Her favorite part of being a pediatrician, she notes, is found in those quiet moments during a visit: “When moms and dads truly feel that I care.
