Insurance & Billing
Paying for your child’s care shouldn’t feel confusing or stressful. We work with most major insurance plans and offer flexible options to support families at every stage.
Insurance Plans We Accept
We participate in most major insurance plans and work closely with families to make coverage questions easier to navigate.
If you’re unsure whether your plan is accepted, our billing team is happy to help you verify coverage before your visit.
Plans we accept include:
Payments & What to Expect at Your Visit
Accepted Payment Methods
- Cash
- VISA and MasterCard
- FSA & HSA
- All copays and deductibles are due at the time services are rendered
- Please bring your insurance card and photo ID to each visit
If You Don’t Have Your Insurance Card
If you arrive without your insurance card, you’ll need to provide all the information required to verify coverage and file claims. If coverage can’t be confirmed, payment in full will be expected at the time of service.
If you have questions ahead of time, we encourage you to reach out—our team is here to help.
Flexible Payment Options with CareCredit
For families who prefer additional flexibility, Rainbow Pediatrics offers CareCredit, a healthcare financing option that allows you to manage out-of-pocket costs over time.
Support for Uninsured or Underinsured Families
Sliding Fee Schedule Discount Program
Every family’s situation is different. Rainbow Pediatrics of Fayetteville offers a Sliding Fee Schedule Discount Program to help provide affordable care for families with limited ability to pay.
This program is available to families who are uninsured or underinsured, and eligibility is based on household income and ability to pay. Discounts are determined using the HHS Poverty Guidelines.
We proudly provide care without discrimination based on age, gender, race, sexual orientation, creed, religion, disability, or national origin.
To learn more about eligibility or how to apply, please contact our Front Desk Staff or Billing Department.
Important Information for Medicaid Families
If your child has Medicaid, you may receive (or have already received) a letter asking you to enroll with one of the new Medicaid insurance carriers and select a Primary Care Provider (PCP).
We are contracted with all of the following Medicaid plans:
- Healthy Blue
- UnitedHealthcare Community Plan
- Carolina Complete Health
- AmeriHealth Caritas North Carolina, Inc.
- Medicaid (also referred to as Direct Medicaid)
This means you do not need to change practices for your child to continue receiving the same high-quality pediatric care you’ve come to expect from Rainbow Pediatrics.
Choosing a Primary Care Provider (PCP)
When enrolling:
- If your child’s specific pediatric provider isn’t listed, but another Rainbow provider appears, you can select that provider
- Your child can still continue seeing their usual provider
- Be sure to search by the provider’s name, not the group or practice name
For your convenience, visit: ncmedicaidplans.gov
If you have trouble locating a Rainbow Pediatrics provider during enrollment, please call your desired clinic location. We’re happy to help.
Medicaid Transportation Benefits
All North Carolina Medicaid programs include non-emergency transportation benefits to help families get to appointments.
- Call the number on the back of your health plan ID card to schedule a ride
- Request transportation at least two days before your appointment
- For urgent visits, advance notice is not required
- If you drive yourself, you may be eligible for reimbursement for travel costs
If transportation has ever been a barrier to care, please let us know—our care managers may be able to assist you.
