Fevers are common and often part of the body’s response to illness. If your child has a fever and you’re unsure what to do, we recommend scheduling a sick visit so we can evaluate symptoms and guide next steps.
For most illnesses and concerns, your pediatrician is the best first stop. We know your child’s history and can provide more personalized care. Urgent care or the ER may be appropriate for severe symptoms or emergencies. If you are unsure where to take your child, we encourage you to call and speak to a nurse or our nurse triage line to determine whether we can address your needs in the office or if urgent care is more appropriate.
Yes, a pediatrician can diagnose ADHD and is often the first and best place to start. We take a thoughtful, step-by-step approach that considers your child’s behavior at home and at school, development, medical history, and overall well-being. If additional support or specialized care is needed, we help coordinate next steps so your child gets the right support at the right time.
We require patients to complete the Vanderbilt forms prior to their first appointment. These forms can be found on our Patient Forms page.
We track your child’s growth over time using standardized growth charts. A child can be small or large and still be healthy—patterns matter more than percentiles. Growth concerns are best addressed early, during routine visits.
Vision screening begins early and continues throughout childhood. Some vision concerns don’t cause obvious symptoms but can affect learning and behavior, which is why routine screening during well visits is so important.
Yes. We provide sports physicals, school forms, and camp paperwork, often during well visits. Sports physicals are valid for one calendar year and can usually be completed quickly and conveniently in-office.
