Meet Leah Black

Fayetteville native, Leah Black is a certified Physician Assistant and has been working in pediatrics for over 20 years. She works in our Fayetteville location.

After graduating from Cape Fear High School, Mrs. Black completed her undergraduate training at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Originally pre-med, she developed an interest in becoming a Physician Assistant after working in a medical office during her junior year of college. She went on to complete her graduate degree in the Physician Assistant program at Duke University.

Mrs. Black fell in love with the field of pediatrics during her last clinical rotation at a pediatric office while attending Duke. She felt very connected to the people and soon realized that a career in pediatrics was the right choice. She quickly extended her pediatric rotation to an additional four weeks and after graduating, was hired as a Physician Assistant at the very same office.

Feeling a strong need to connect not only with patients but also their families, Mrs. Black has a unique ability to communicate with all who enter her examination room with ease. A significant part of being a pediatric provider is education and Mrs. Black can seamlessly identify issues and provide solutions to help her families succeed.

Mrs. Black currently resides in Eastover with her husband and two daughters, whose many activities keep the family schedule quite full. In the warmer months, you can often find Mrs. Black taking trips with her family to the beach where they enjoy spending time on their boat. Highly involved with her church, Mrs. Black is passionate about mission work and has been on four medical mission trips to Nicaragua. Her oldest daughter has been blessed to be able to accompany her on three of them!
