Kathryn Hoemann, DNP, APRN, CPNP-PC
Katie Hoemann grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, and knew that she wanted to serve people as a healthcare professional from a young age. Her desire to work directly with patients consistently at the bedside and have the ability to connect with them on a deeper level steered her toward a career in nursing. And after shadowing a nurse practitioner, she knew her career path would take her down a similar road. It wasn’t until she completed her pediatrics rotation that she knew her passion was for helping children and their families.
Mrs. Hoemann received both her Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) and her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from the University of Missouri in Columbia (Sinclair School of Nursing). Before joining Rainbow Pediatrics, she worked in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Pediatric Hematology/Oncology.
In addition to general pediatrics, Mrs. Hoemann has a special interest in pediatric nutrition and exercise and working with her families to develop a healthy lifestyle. She believes that as a pediatric provider, understanding the family dynamic of her patients is an essential element to the successful treatment of the pediatric patient. To Mrs. Hoemann, each child, family, and caregiver unit has a unique perspective of the world and, therefore, can impact it differently. Mrs. Hoemann feels it is her responsibility to work alongside caregivers to provide education in a relevant and helpful way so informed health decisions can be made. Her role is that of a guide, supporting her families whenever needed and celebrating their successes.
Mrs. Hoemann relocated to Fayetteville with her husband, a Ft. Bragg Chaplain, and their young daughter. When not working, she and her husband enjoy sampling new coffee beans, blends, and brewing methods (pour-over is her current fav). She enjoys cooking healthy foods, hiking, traveling, and exploring her new home in North Carolina.
Fun facts: As an Army family, Mrs. Hoemann and her family have lived in El Paso, TX, and Columbia, SC. She’s a St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan and doesn’t like cinnamon rolls.
